Cary Michael Cox

Mr. Cox is a native Houstonian and graduated from Memorial High School, a National Exemplary school. He has a BA from The University of Texas at Austin. After graduation Mr. Cox continued his education and completed the post graduate curriculum to become a licensed Real Estate and Mortgage Broker.

Mr. Cox has been involved in the Real Estate/Mortgage Industry his entire professional career. Prior Flagstone, he was a partner in Houston Residential Properties. Mr. Cox has been a guest-speaker on numerous radio shows, interviewed on television as a mortgage expert, and spoken to many organizations.

Because of his real estate experience he knows the importance of communicating with all parties, his client, their realtor, and the seller's realtor during a purchase transaction. This knowledge helps him navigate mortgage transactions smoothly and efficiently.

Mr. Cox's goal is to be an advisor and consultant before during and after the mortgage transaction to his clients. His approach is to be a good listener of his client's needs and objectives and provide the best solution to meet them.

Outside of the office Mr. Cox is involved in the community through his work with the Kiwanis Club of Houston where he is on the board of directors and as a member of the 50/50 Society for Houston Habitat for Humanity. In addition Mr. Cox has practiced and taught martial arts for almost fifteen years. He is also an avid runner.

Darren Smith

Senior Vice President

Mr. Smith is a South Texas native from the coastal town of Palacios. Darren has a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin, a MBA from St. Edwards University, and spent numerous years at Arthur Andersen.

Darren brings a unique perspective to his clients. He sees the transaction from three different viewpoints. First, as a lender he has knowledge of the different financing programs available. Second, as a prior business owner he understands the clients’ expectations of finding solutions to their needs. Finally, as a financial consultant he can discuss the tax and cash flow implications of each financing program available to the borrower.

This ability to see the transaction from all sides makes Darren one of the most knowledgeable consultants for commercial financing and high-end residential mortgages. Darren has developed an extensive network of direct lenders on Wall Street to ensure his clients get the very best rates and programs available in the market.

Previously he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions department of Arthur Andersen. He has been a financial consultant for several companies. In addition, Darren has owned or been a partner in several businesses.

Outside of work Darren enjoys international travel, lifting weights, running, and golf.

Jaqui Lezama

Processing Manager

Jaqui was born in East Chicago Indiana but became a naturalized Texan when her parents moved to the Rio Grande Valley before she was even six months old. After finishing her general studies in Corpus Christi she went directly into residential lending.

Ms. Lezama began her career as a highly successful loan officer. During this time period she learned all the loan programs and underwriting guidelines. This position also allowed her to directly interact with the client to understand their needs and concerns throughout the loan process.

Because good processors are difficult to come by Jaqui decided to process her own loans. Her ability to multi-task made processing a snap for her. She processed them so efficiently and effectively that others in the office would pay her to process their loans as well.

At that point she knew she had found her calling and made loan processing her sole full-time endeavor. She now has nearly a decade of experience in the loan processing arena. Having been on every side of the transaction as loan officer, processor, home-buyer/owner she truly can appreciate and understand the client’s needs. Her warm personality and tenacious work habits insure that your loan will close on time.

Jaqui enjoys traveling, snow-skiing, cooking, and relaxing along side her backyard pool.
